Call for Volunteers: Help Build Nigeria Disability Tech Summit 1.0
Something is being built.
Nigeria Disability Tech Summit 1.0 is no longer just an idea.
It is taking shape.
And as we prepare for the first edition of the Nigeria Disability Tech Summit (NDTS), we know that building something meaningful cannot be the work of one person or one organisation alone.
It takes people.
People who care.
People who are willing to contribute their skills.
People who see the possibilities in technology and believe that disability should never be an afterthought in the future we are building.
That is why NDTS is opening its doors to volunteers.
We are looking for people who want to be part of the journey.
You don't have to be a disability technology expert.
You don't need years of experience organising major conferences.
And you certainly don't need to have everything figured out.
You may be a designer.
A developer.
A content creator.
A photographer.
A marketer.
A student.
A researcher.
A project manager.
A disability advocate.
An event professional.
Someone who understands accessibility.
Or simply someone who has looked at the barriers people with disabilities face and thought:
“There has to be a better way.”

- And other areas where your skills can make a difference
If you have a skill that isn't listed, we still want to hear from you.
Why join the NDTS volunteer team?
Because this is the first edition.
You won't simply be joining an established event and following instructions.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to how NDTS is built from the beginning.
You will work alongside people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
You will gain experience.
You will build relationships.
You will contribute ideas.
You will see what happens behind the scenes of a major summit.
And most importantly, you will be contributing to a conversation Nigeria urgently needs to have:
How can technology help create a more accessible and inclusive future for persons with disabilities?
This is bigger than an event.
Technology is changing how we work, learn, communicate, move, create and participate in society.
Artificial intelligence is advancing.
Assistive technologies are evolving.
Software is becoming more powerful.
Hardware and embedded systems are creating new possibilities.
But innovation only matters when people can actually benefit from it.
Millions of people with disabilities still encounter barriers in education, employment, mobility, communication, healthcare, digital services and everyday life.
NDTS exists to bring the people working on these challenges into the same room.
Builders.
Researchers.
Innovators.
Advocates.
Policymakers.
Educators.
Therapists.
Investors.
Organisations.
And persons with disabilities themselves.
And volunteers are part of making that room possible.
You don't have to wait until everything is perfect.
The first edition of NDTS is being built now.
There will be challenges.
There will be things we learn along the way.
There will be ideas that change.
That's part of building something for the first time.
What matters is having people who are willing to show up, contribute and build together.
